6 Reasons Why Women Undergo Breast Augmentation

Of the many cosmetic surgeries performed today, breast augmentation is one of the most common ones. Besides adding size to the breast, there are other reasons for some people to perform this operation of improving their breast shape and size.

One of the most common reasons for a breast augmentation is its high satisfaction rate. Most people who perform this surgery are happy with its end results, and don't suffer from many side effects and complications.
Of course, the second most popular and common reason for breast augmentation is to improve one's bust line. Sometimes the patient may just have small breasts and need help in enlarging it and sometimes, the patient's breasts lose its volume and shape due to aging and childbearing.

In other words, many women who are not happy with their breast size opt for breast augmentation or breast implants to improve both their body image and self esteem.

Patients who have undergone extreme weight loss also opt for breast augmentation to improve and restore their upper body curves. This is because once you lose weight; your breast size also reduces. Sometimes, the patient may opt to place breast implants so that they look more youthful and perky.

Breast augmentation is also done by cancer survivors to help build their bust after undergoing mastectomy, especially when she has only one breast or a part of a breast is removed.
There are some women who also have unequal breasts that may arise through trau ma or just genetics. These women use breast enhancement to modify that breast so that both breasts are equal and feel a boost in their self confidence.
Any damage that occurs to the breast requires immediate reconstruction; however sometimes women who undergo some accident early in life may stunt the growth of one or both breasts. Burns, severe lacerations and physical trauma can all cause breast malformation. With the help of breast augmentation, patients feel and look better.

So you can see that there are different reasons for a woman to undergo breast augmentation. However whatever the reason may be, the operation should be done with realistic expectations, after consulting a plastic surgeon.
